If you're trying to open a Memowrite link (like to your book or profile page) and it doesn't
work, shows an error, or won't load — don't worry. Here are the most common fixes:
-
Try Opening the Link in a Different Browser
Some browsers have settings that block certain scripts or cookies.
We recommend using:- Google Chrome (Best performance)
- Firefox
- Microsoft Edge
Safari may block parts of our site, especially when using strict privacy settings or translation features.
-
Switch to Another Device
If you're opening the link on a mobile phone and it's not working, try:- Opening it on a laptop or desktop
- Using the same browser (like Chrome) on another device
-
Disable Translation (For Non-English Speakers)
If you're seeing page errors after pressing "Translate", this could be the cause. Safari and some apps auto-translate the page in a way that breaks how it loads.
To fix this on Safari (Desktop):
- Click "View" in the top menu bar.
-
Select "Stop Translation" or "Show Original" (if available). Alternatively:
- Click the translation icon in the Safari address bar (a speech bubble or"aA").
- Choose "View Original" from the dropdown.
-
Refresh the page.
This should disable auto-translation and allow the page to load correctly.
To fix this on Safari (Mobile):
- Tap the "aA" icon in the URL bar
- Tap "View Original" (instead of "Translate")
- Refresh the page
This should resolve most display and link issues.
-
Clear Cache & Cookies (Optional but Helpful)
Old cookies or cache files might interfere with links working properly. You can try clearing your browser cache (usually found in browser settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data).
